Passionate about woodworking professions, the Vlad family has always had a strong interest in cooperage. In 2003, building on its experience in forestry and stave production, the family established a workshop equipped with high-performance production tools and launched a range of oak barrels under the brand Transilvania Bois Tonnellerie.
Thanks to controlled sourcing and the expertise of its master coopers, Vlad produces premium barrels with an excellent price-to-quality ratio. The brand quickly expanded into major wine-producing countries across Europe, the United States, South Africa, and New Zealand.

In 2020, Transilvania Bois Tonnellerie became Tonnellerie Vlad — a name change that reflects more than ever the family’s heritage, their deep connection to the land, and their commitment to skilled craftsmanship and its transmission.

With a rigorous selection of the finest Romanian stave oak and the know-how developed by Transilvania Bois, Tonnellerie Vlad offers winemakers and distillers barrels with a unique signature, crafted with full respect for sustainable forest management and biodiversity.
